Our client had recently purchased this home and it was in need of some updating to ensure it was safe for her two young children and designed for her to enjoy. The space on top of the garage was unused, unsafe and not a visually appealing facade for the front of the house. With built the deck and pergola off the front of the house and had the asbestos brick cladding removed from all external walls and replaced with James Hardie Weatherboard cladding.
The decking and pergola construction was built top of the existing garage. Sliding doors from the home exit onto the deck and make this space an extension of the living room. The white roof sheets allow lots of natural light to still filter through and the open space of the deck is perfect for relaxing on. We used Timbertech composite decking boards for the deck which are low maintenance, extremely durable and one of the most natural looking boards on the market.
Cladding the entire house completely changed the look and feel of the home. We used James Hardie Linea Weatherboard and had it painted white to truly bring a Hamptons inspired feel to it. James Hardie weatherboard cladding is resistant to shrinking, swelling, cracking and works so well on expansive external walls. You can really see the transformation through some of these before shots.
